When I started to plan my winter quilt projects the first thing I did was pull out all the plant dyed fabric I had worked on over the summer. Immediately, a pallet of greens and purples came together and inspired an olive quilt design.
olive trees are a symbol of peace, resilience, and the Palestinian peoples rootedness in their land.
Some of the plants from my dye garden that I used to dye the fabric for this quilt are: Hopi sunflower seed, madder root, indigo, weld and marigold.
I made this small olive quilt to raffle for mutual aid for Gaza. The raffle is open February 11th -23rd 2025. See @makersformutualaid on IG for details
