The Olive Quilt

$4,366.80
sold out

After a fruitful season of dyeing in 2024 I found myself with a stack of purple and green plant dyed fabric. Most of these colors were many layered in the making. Greens coming from marigold and weld over-dyed with indigo and then sometimes dyed again in weld. Some purples were birthed from the play between madder and indigo while other purples given by the Hopi sunflower seed then dyed on soy pretreated fabric. And of course, that pop of madder pink.

I used this rich pallet to create a symphony of a log cabin quilt. Truly my most ambitious quilt to date.

All of the fabric is linen dyed by me with plants that I grew or foraged with the exception of the purple panel on the back. That was a thrifted linen sheet that matched the pallet to perfectly not to use as is.

The quilting is done by hand with cotton sashiko thread.

I used Sonoma natural wool batting which, in combination with the hand quilting, gives a luxurious loft as well as supple visual texture.

94in X 94 in

Sales tax and shipping to the continental USA is included in the price.
